Alex Fultz joined the Williamston Baseball Program as a Varsity Assistant Coach in August 2022 and was named the Head Varsity Coach in July 2026. Since 2022, the baseball program has seen plenty of success including a 108-31 record, four district championships, four Diamond Classic appearances, a Diamond Classic runner-up, three conference championships, one regional championship, and 12 players sent to the next level to play college baseball. Fultz also coached the Detroit Metro Stars 15U team in the summer of 2025. Fultz graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2019 with a degree in business where he was a four-year starter at catcher for the Hornets. He was also named a captain as a senior and helped the team to its first NCAA regional appearance in school history in 2016 and its first 30-win season in school history in 2017. He earned All-MIAA honors as a junior in 2018 and was honored twice as MIAA Player of the Week. He was also named to Kalamazoo’s All-Decade Team in 2020. Fultz graduated from Sterling Heights Stevenson High School in 2014 where he helped the team to a 37-3 record and a regional championship as a senior. He also helped Warren De La Salle Collegiate to a state championship game appearance as a sophomore in 2012. Fultz now resides in Okemos, MI and works as a Financial Analyst for Bronson Healthcare Group.

Joshua Holtham joined the Williamston Baseball Program in March 2023 and will be entering his fifth season as a Varsity Assistant Coach where he has been instrumental in the development of the program’s outfielders and hitters. Holtham spent two years playing baseball at Lansing Community College as an outfielder and a left-handed pitcher. He played baseball at Lansing Catholic High School for three years before playing his senior season at Bath High School where he was named an All-State pitcher. Coach Josh now resides in Lansing, MI.

Dylan Monette joined the Williamston Baseball Program as a Varsity Assistant Coach in July 2026 where he works primarily with the Hornets’ pitching staff. A 2011 graduate of Williamston High School, Monette returns to a program that played an important role in his own development as an athlete. During his time at Williamston, he was a four-year varsity baseball player while earning All-Conference (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011), All-District (2009, 2010, 2011), and All-Area (2010, 2011) recognition. He was also named to the Lansing State Journal Dream Team and was named the Lansing State Journal Male Athlete of the Year in 2011. Following high school, Monette attended Saginaw Valley State University, where he continued his athletic career playing football. He later returned to baseball at Lansing Community College, competing as a two-way player. At Lansing CC, he contributed on the mound as a pitcher while also playing middle infield, giving him experience developing and competing in both phases of the game. Before joining the Williamston Baseball Varsity coaching staff, Monette gained coaching experience at all ages of travel baseball as well as individual player training. His playing and coaching experiences have shaped a player-development-focused philosophy centered around helping athletes understand the game, develop strong fundamentals, and maximize their individual abilities. As a Williamston alumnus, Monette takes pride in having the opportunity to give back to the program he once played for. His goal is to help develop the next generation of Hornet baseball players while contributing to a culture and standard that current players, alumni, families, and the Williamston community can be proud of.

Scott Cahoon joined the Williamston Baseball Program as a Varsity Assistant Coach in July 2026 with a unique combination of high-level baseball experience, military leadership, and passion for developing student athletes. After a high school career where he was a four-year starter and a brief college stint, Cahoon went on to an 11-year career in the United States Navy, where he led and developed high-performance teams and completed six deployments in support of the Global War on Terror. This experience shaped his approach to leadership, emphasizing discipline, accountability, preparation, and the development of individuals within a team environment. Currently a travel baseball coach, Cahoon is passionate about helping athletes maximize their potential. His coaching philosophy centers on developing fundamentally sound players, competitive teams, and young men who understand the value of preparation, resilience, responsibility, and character. Outside of baseball, Cahoon enjoys spending time with his wife, Danielle, watching their two sons, Decland and Finn, thrive on the soccer and baseball fields.

Patrick McPharlin has served as the Williamston JV Head Coach since 2021. During his six seasons leading the Hornets, McPharlin has compiled a 90-49-4 record, with five winning seasons. His teams have enjoyed particular success in recent years, posting a 21-7 record in 2025 followed by a 24-6 record in 2026. Over those two seasons, Williamston’s JV team went 45-13. McPharlin began coaching youth baseball with the Holt Jr. Rams before joining the Williamston baseball community. He has also coached in the Williamston Stings program. McPharlin and his wife, Nicole, have four children: Jen, Brendan, Lucas and Lexi. He enjoys spending time with his family, coaching, playing golf and following sports. His coaching philosophy centers on developing young players both on and off the field while helping them build the confidence, work ethic and love of the game necessary to succeed at the high school level.

Brendan McPharlin joined the Williamston baseball coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2025. A 2022 graduate of Williamston High School, Brendan was a member of the Hornets’ historic 2021-22 basketball team that completed a perfect 29-0 season and captured the MHSAA state championship. The undefeated season marked one of the most successful campaigns in Williamston basketball history. Brendan was also a member of the Williamston golf team, helping the Hornets capture a regional championship during his high school career. As a former Williamston student-athlete, Brendan brings a strong understanding of the Hornets’ athletic culture and enjoys working with the next generation of Williamston baseball players.

Ryan Orr joined the Williamston baseball program as the Varsity Head Coach in August 2022. Orr began his coaching career as an assistant with the Capital City Kings 16U team in 2017. After he spent three seasons as the pitching coach at Kalamazoo College from 2019-2021. During that span, the pitching staff finished in the top four in the conference for ERA, K/9, Hits Allowed, and Runs Allowed. Orr graduated from Kalamazoo College in June of 2018 with a degree in business and a focus on marketing. He was a four-year starter for the Hornets and earned numerous accolades while breaking many school records. He was also a two-time captain and member of the winningest four-year class in program history while helping lead the team to its first-ever regional appearance. Orr earned All-MIAA honors all four years and was named MIAA Co-Pitcher of the Year and All-American Utility Player (RHP/2B) in 2017. He threw two no-hitters and was honored five times as MIAA Player of the Week and once as National Pitcher of the Week (2018). Orr holds Kalamazoo College career records for ERA (2.28), wins (30), innings pitched (288.2), strikeouts (267), complete games (21), shutouts (5), and saves (9). In collegiate summer baseball, Orr was a two-time Northwoods League All-Star (2015 & 2016) and helped lead the Kenosha Kingfish to the franchise’s first NWL championship in 2015. He also played in the Cape Cod League in 2017. Orr signed his first pro contract in June of 2018 to play for the River City Rascals of the Frontier League. A native of DeWitt, Mich. (Bath High School), Orr was a three-time All-State pitcher and 2014 Prep Baseball Report Player of the Year for the state of Michigan. He holds Michigan High School Athletic Association records for consecutive no-hitters (3), perfect games in a season (3), ERA in a season (0.09), and career ERA (0.24). ​
